Job Description

1. Operational Leadership

Lead café opening and closing procedures in your shift: ensure equipment is set up or cleaned, stock levels logged, until final cash count and handover.

2. Staffing and Team Management

Recruit, interview, onboard & train baristas and front‑of‑house staff; emphasize espresso & beverage quality standards.

3. Customer Experience & Communication

Dedicate time on the floor to engage guests, answer questions, and handle complaints or refunds immediately.
Build rapport with regulars by remembering preferences or upselling gently when appropriate.

4. Inventory, Procurement & Stock Control

Maintain daily par-levels for coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, disposables; get signatures for deliveries vs. orders.
Monitor spoilage, track shrinkage and waste patterns, and adjust ordering accordingly to reduce costs.
Manage vendor relationships—negotiate prices, manage reorder frequency, evaluate substitute suppliers as needed.

5. Financial & Business Oversight

Track daily sales, labor costs, and expenses; ensure figures tie to POS; submit weekly cash and sales reports to HQ.
Analyze sales trends to identify high‑margin menu items or promotional opportunities; suggest menu updates.
Work within budget for labor and supplies, with attention to COGS and profit targets.

6. Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance

Enforce food hygiene protocols (cleanliness of espresso machine group heads, refrigerators, restrooms, etc.)
Conduct regular self-audits and mock inspections; ensure staff are certified in local health code policies.
Maintain incident, accident & equipment malfunction logs; work with HQ or service providers to fix issues.

7. Marketing, Promotions & Brand Standards

Plan in‑store or local promotions (e.g. seasonal drinks, loyalty offers, pop-up events) in coordination with HQ/social media.
Host occasional cupping sessions, barista demos, or product launches in the café to engage community and boost footfall.

8. Equipment & Maintenance Oversight

Monitor functionality of espresso machines, grinders, refrigerators; coordinate servicing to avoid downtime during peak hours.
