  • Negotiate buying, SOR, consignment, and exclusivity deals to optimize risk and profitability.
  • Maintain compliance with quality, labeling, and sustainability standards.

Assortment Planning & Forecasting

  • Plan seasonal assortments based on trend forecasts, stylist inputs, and sales data.
  • Create demand forecasts and OTB (Open-to-Buy) plans to manage budgets and inventory risk.
  • Balance core, seasonal, and trending categories to drive discovery and repeat engagement.

Commercial & Pricing Management

  • Set margin targets, pricing structures, and markdown strategies.
  • Monitor gross margins and negotiate favorable commercial terms with partners.
  • Work with finance teams on budget allocation and spend control.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Structure vendor contracts covering pricing, credit, returns, and service levels.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews (sell-through, OTIF, returns, customer feedback).
  • Partner with vendors for exclusive collections, capsule launches, and collaborations.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with stylists and visual merchandising to align sourcing with brand storytelling.
  • Collaborate with logistics/ops to ensure on-time deliveries, returns, and reverse logistics under SOR.
  • Partner with technology teams to enable smooth onboarding through vendor/ERP systems.
  • Provide trend and product insights to marketing for campaign storytelling.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Track sell-through, gross margins, and contribution of sourced brands to revenue.
  • Optimize sourcing mix through data-driven insights and customer feedback.
  • Benchmark against competitors in pricing, assortment depth, and catalog freshness.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in fashion buying & sourcing, including SOR/consignment models.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills with premium fashion brands.
  • Assortment planning and demand forecasting experience.
  • Strong commercial mindset with pricing, margin, and budget management expertise.
  • Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems and vendor onboarding platforms.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, compliance, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Ability to balance creative curation with commercial targets.
  • Trend awareness supported by tools like WGSN, Edited, or Heuritech.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Fashion Management, Merchandising, Business, or related field.
  • 6–8 years of experience in buying/sourcing for fashion retail or e-commerce, ideally in affordable-luxury/premium categories.
  • Experience negotiating SOR/consignment contracts and building strong vendor networks.
  • Proven track record of assortment curation, margin management, and vendor partnerships.
  • Exposure to premium fashion marketplaces (Myntra, Ajio, Tata Cliq, Nykaa Fashion, Reliance Brands, etc.) is a plus.
