coming 18-24 months.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM)
to lead and manage a team of 12 Business Development Associates (BDAs). The BDM will be
responsible for driving the team’s performance, meeting sales targets, and developing strategic
partnerships to expand business opportunities. The ideal candidate should have a strong
background in sales management, team leadership, and market analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Performance Management:
● Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 12 BDAs to achieve and exceed sales targets.
● Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
● Develop individual and team KPIs to measure success.
● Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
2. Sales Strategy and Execution:
● Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business growth.
● Identify new market opportunities and devise strategies to penetrate them.
● Ensure the team is effectively communicating the value proposition to prospects.
● Monitor sales pipeline and conversion rates, and make necessary adjustments to
strategies.
3. Training and Development:
● Provide regular training and coaching to enhance product knowledge and sales
techniques.
● Ensure BDAs are equipped with the tools and resources needed to succeed.
● Encourage professional development and skills enhancement within the team.
4. Client Relationship Management:
● Oversee the team’s client acquisition and retention efforts.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
● Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
5. Reporting and Analysis:
● Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
● Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, market conditions, and
revenue growth.
● Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market
feedback.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
● 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, with at least 2-3 years in a
managerial role.
● Proven track record of leading and managing sales teams to achieve targets.
● Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable strategies
● Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Leadsquared) and MS Office Suite.
● Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):
● Monthly and quarterly sales targets met/exceeded.
● Sales pipeline growth and conversion rate.
● BDA team performance and retention rate.
