1) Job Title: Junior Biomedical Engineer (BEMS)

Job Summary

The Junior Biomedical Engineer will support day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operation of medical equipment across clinical departments. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance, documentation, and coordination with clinical users and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Support

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment across wards, ICU, OT, OPD, diagnostics, etc.
• Attend breakdown calls, troubleshoot faults, and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing of new equipment.
• Ensure equipment uptime and patient safety.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain service reports, maintenance logs, calibration records, and equipment inventory.
• Follow hospital SOPs and support NABH / quality audit requirements.

Clinical & User Support

• Provide technical support to doctors, nurses, and technicians during equipment usage.
• Assist in basic user training on safe handling and routine checks.

Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with OEMs and service vendors for repairs, spares, and warranty/AMC support.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering / Electronics / Instrumentation
• 2–6 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setup
• Hands-on exposure to equipment like patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, defibrillators, anesthesia machines, etc.
• Basic understanding of hospital safety standards and infection control
• Good communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills

2) Job Title: Senior Biomedical Engineer (BEMS)

Experience: 8–10 Years
Location: Kolkata
Reporting To: Head – Biomedical Engineering / Facility Management

Job Summary

The Senior Biomedical Engineer will lead biomedical engineering operations, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and lifecycle management of medical equipment. The role includes team supervision, vendor management, compliance, and strategic planning to support high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

• Lead and supervise BEMS team, allocate duties, and monitor performance.
• Ensure maximum uptime of critical medical equipment across departments.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex equipment issues.

Equipment Lifecycle Management

• Oversee installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, calibration, and decommissioning of medical devices.
• Participate in technical evaluation, vendor finalization, and procurement planning.
• Plan equipment replacement and lifecycle cost optimization.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with NABH standards, safety norms, and hospital policies.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for internal and external audits.
• Implement SOPs, safety checks, and risk mitigation processes.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage AMC/CMC contracts, vendor performance, and service quality.
• Coordinate with OEMs for major breakdowns, upgrades, and training.
• Work closely with clinical heads and administration for operational planning.

Training & Development

• Conduct technical training for biomedical engineers and end users.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure skill development.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering / Electronics / Instrumentation
• 8–10 years of experience, with at least 3–4 years in a senior/lead role in a hospital environment
• Strong exposure to critical care, OT, and diagnostic equipment
• Sound knowledge of NABH, safety regulations, and hospital engineering practices
• Leadership, vendor negotiation, documentation, and problem-solving skills
