Job Description: Assistant Vice President –Loan Operations

Role Overview
The VP – Operations (Working Capital) will lead end-to-end operational management of the Working Capital business, ensuring efficient processing, compliance, risk control, and operational excellence. The role involves cross-functional leadership across credit, underwriting, disbursement documentation, partner management, and customer lifecycle operations. The VP will drive process optimization, automation, and governance to support business growth and portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
Lead day-to-day operations for Working Capital products (CC/OD limits, invoice financing, Retail loans, term loans, etc.).
Ensure loan processing across onboarding, credit assessment, sanctions, documentation, disbursement.
Should be an expert in debt structuring, debt syndication, ratio analysis and Balance sheet analysis.
2. Working Capital Program Management
Manage the full lifecycle of WC facilities: assessment, approval, documentation, monitoring, utilization tracking, and renewal.
Oversee limit setting, drawing power calculations, stock statements, cash-flow analysis, and exposure monitoring.
Ensure timely review and renewal of facilities to maintain continuous availability of working capital for clients.
3. Compliance, Risk & Governance
Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines (RBI), internal risk policies, AML/KYC norms, and audit requirements.
Implement strong operational risk controls, quality checks, and maker-checker frameworks.
Liaise with internal audit, legal, risk, and compliance teams for periodic checks and governance.
4. Team Management & Stakeholder Coordination
Lead and mentor operational teams including credit ops, disbursement ops, documentation, and post-disbursement monitoring.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Credit, Risk, Finance, Collections, Tech and Product teams.
Drive a performance-oriented culture with high levels of accountability and efficiency.
5. Customer & Partner Management
Ensure seamless customer onboarding with minimal friction.
Manage operations with channel partners, DSAs, fintech platforms, and anchor partners.
Improve customer experience by reducing TAT, improving process flow, and ensuring accurate documentation.
6. Process Excellence & Analytics
Monitor operational KPIs: TAT, approval ratio, processing accuracy, portfolio utilization, renewals.
Master in co-ordination with banks and nbfcs for fund-raising.
Analyse operational metrics and provide insights to leadership for decision-making.
7. Portfolio Monitoring & Early Warning
Oversee working-capital portfolio performance, monitoring utilization, covenants, stock statements, receivables ageing, and collateral coverage.
Identify early warning signals and coordinate with collections and risk teams to mitigate exposure.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of working capital products, MSME/SME lending, invoice discounting.
Expertise in operational processes, credit lifecycle, documentation, and risk controls.
Ability to implement scalable processes and automation.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
Leadership abilities with experience handling mid-sized to large operational teams.
Familiarity with digital lending platforms, LOS/LMS, and workflow engines.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate (MBA/CA preferred).
8-15 years of experience in Banking / NBFC / Financial Services.
Experience in operations for working capital, SME lending, or commercial credit is required.
Proven track record of scaling operations and driving process excellence.
