Assistant Manager / Manager – Sales (Solar Projects)

Position Overview

Assistant Manager / Manager – Sales (Solar Projects)

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for solar projects in line with company objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential leads and opportunities.
  • Build strong networks with key decision-makers across government, commercial, and industrial sectors.
  • Deliver impactful sales presentations explaining solar energy solutions.

2. Proposal & Contract Management

  • Assist in preparing accurate technical and financial proposals.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define project scope and cost estimates.
  • Support contract negotiations and finalize agreements with clients.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through regular communication and post-sales support.
  • Address client queries and resolve project-related issues.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling additional services.

4. Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Track project progress against timelines and budgets while aligning with client expectations.
  • Monitor performance of completed projects and suggest areas for improvement.

5. Sales Reporting & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and client interactions.
  • Provide periodic sales reports and forecasts to the Sales Head.
  • Analyse sales data to identify patterns and improve strategies.

6. Industry Knowledge & Networking

  • Stay updated on solar technology, government policies, and renewable energy trends.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    Any Graduate / BE / B.Tech (MBA preferred).
  • Experience:

    Minimum 5 years of total experience with at least 2–3 years in solar/renewable energy project sales.
  • Must have successfully executed

    a solar project of at least 500 kW (rooftop or ground-mounted)

    .
  • Candidates from

    open access projects, channel sales, or inside sales

    will not be considered.
  • Candidates who have been validated/interviewed in the past 6 months should not be sourced.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of solar energy products, systems, and solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales reporting software.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and present solutions clearly to clients.

Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team
