About the Role

The Manager – Quality Assurance (QA) will be responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured at the facility meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role involves managing quality systems, maintaining documentation, conducting inspections and audits, and leading initiatives that ensure consistent product quality across all stages of production. The position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, and ISO 22000 standards within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000 standards across production, packaging, and warehousing operations.
• Conduct regular inspections, in-process checks, and audits for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
• Oversee hygiene and sanitation practices within the plant, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
• Maintain and update quality documentation, inspection records, test results, calibration logs, and non-conformance reports.
• Investigate quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints, and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to drive product quality improvements and minimize defects.
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits to ensure plant compliance and audit readiness.
• Conduct and oversee training sessions for employees on food safety, hygiene, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure raw material and packaging compliance with quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in process quality, product shelf life, and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• Education

  : Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.

• Experience:

  3–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within the FMCG, Food Processing, or QSR industry.

• Technical Knowledge:

  In-depth understanding of ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and FSSAI regulations.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong documentation and reporting capability.
• Team leadership experience with ability to coach and develop QA staff.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Skills

• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Compliance percentage in internal and external audits.
• Reduction in customer complaints and quality deviations.
• Timely closure of CAPA and audit observations.
• Quality training hours conducted per quarter.
• Consistency in adherence to GMP, HACCP, and FSSAI standards.

Work Environment

This position is based at the Fasta Pizza Manufacturing Facility, Perungudi – Chennai. The role involves daily coordination with production, warehouse, and R&D teams, and regular presence on the shop floor to ensure real-time monitoring of product quality.
