Assistant Manager - Purchase

Job Description

We are looking for candidates with strong experience in procurement / purchase process for our drone manufacturing facility in Chennai. Responsibilities:· Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for Electronics & Dorne related components, Plastic, Mechanical, · Procurement of all capital Machinery & imported machine spares,· Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production schedules and inventory requirements.· Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure the best value.· Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while developing new vendor networks.· Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure procurement aligns with technical specifications and quality standards.· Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders to avoid shortages or overstocking.· Prepare and process purchase orders and related documentation.· Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery, resolving any logistical or quality issues.· Analyze market trends in price fluctuations to make cost-effective purchasing decisions.· Strive for cost-reduction on an ongoing basis· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier performance, and inventory.· Comply with company policies and industry regulations regarding procurement and ethical sourcing. Required Skills:· BE in Electronics / Aeronautical / Aerospace· 5 years experience in purchasing , preferably in the drone, electronics, aerospace, or similar manufacturing sector.· Familiarity with drone components, electronics, and mechanical parts is a strong advantage.· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.· Skilled in ERP / SAP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).· Good analytical, and communication skills.· Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills:· Knowledge of global sourcing import/export procedures.· Technical understanding of drone systems or aerospace components.· Experience in cost analysis and budgeting.· Knowledge in ISO: 9001
