The Assistant Manager – Finance

Key Responsibilities

1. Finance Operations & Reporting

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate books and timely month-end closures.
• Prepare MIS reports, variance analysis, budgets, and forecasts.
• Perform reconciliations for ledgers, sub-ledgers, inventory, and interdepartmental accounts.
• Support adherence to internal controls, SOPs, and accounting policies.

2. E-Commerce Accounting & Digital Finance

• Execute reconciliations for marketplaces (Amazon, Shopify, etc.) and payment gateways.
• Monitor marketplace charges, returns, commissions, deductions, and chargebacks; highlight anomalies and coordinate resolution.
• Assist in unit economics analysis, digital marketing cost tracking, and contribution margin insights.

3. Compliance & Indirect Taxation

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of GST workings, reconciliations, and return filings.
• Coordinate GST refund applications for exports.
• Manage statutory compliance including TDS, customs documentation, and audit support.
• Prepare export documentation and track foreign remittances and settlements.

4. ERP, Automation & Process Improvement

• Support ERP implementation (Tally Prime / NetSuite / SAP or similar) including testing, documentation, and process migration.
• Maintain master data accuracy and assist in setting up new workflows.
• Identify operational gaps and assist in automation of invoicing, reconciliation, and inventory processes.

5. Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with internal teams (operations, logistics, sales, marketing) to ensure data accuracy and timely information flow.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and tax advisors for statutory and internal audits.
• Prepare management-ready reports and insights for the Finance Controller.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• CA Inter / CA finalist / MBA (Finance) / B.Com with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in accounting, reconciliations, GST, and export documentation.
• Familiarity with e-commerce accounting and marketplace operations.
• Proficiency in Tally, Zoho Books, or similar systems; strong Excel/Google Sheets capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in D2C/e-commerce or startup environments.
• Exposure to ERP implementation and finance automation tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and drive process discipline.
