What you’ll do

As Tax Specialist India region, you’ll be responsible for tax matters in the India and be part of the tax team in India, reporting to Head of Tax in India. You will be part of the global Group Tax team of Signify, which spans a diverse global network of over 30 professionals operating as one integrated, internal tax function for Signify businesses worldwide advising on transfer pricing, corporate income tax, and GST/VAT.

• Support Tax Compliance and Reporting:
• Collaborate with external service providers to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and other statutory submissions.
• Provide Expert Tax Advisory:
• Serve as the in-house expert on Indian taxation, covering Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Goods & Services Tax (GST). Provide insights and recommendations on tax implications of business operations and transactions.
• Manage Audits and Litigation:
• Handle tax assessments, audits, and litigation processes with government authorities. Coordinate with consultants and internal teams to mitigate tax exposure and resolve disputes efficiently.
• Act as Group Tax Liaison:
• Function as the primary point of contact for the Group Tax team on all tax-related matters for the Greater India region, ensuring alignment with global tax strategies and policies.
• Drive Tax Strategy and Governance:
• Oversee the formulation and implementation of the Group Tax strategy, including processes, policies, controls, and compliance frameworks to ensure consistent execution and risk management.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in direct and indirect taxation, including international tax, GST, and transfer pricing.
• Proven experience in managing tax compliance, audits, and advisory within a multinational or large organization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow within a global tax environment.
• In-depth knowledge of GST, Corporate Taxation, and International Taxation.
• Experience in Tax Consulting and Advisory roles.
• Excellent communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
