Position Summary

The HR Manager - Acquisitions will lead the talent acquisition function focused exclusively on attracting, sourcing, screening, and recruiting high-calibre teaching and non-teaching faculty members for the institution. This role involves end-to-end recruitment processes tailored to academic and administrative positions, ensuring alignment with institutional standards, diversity goals, and timely hiring needs across the 120-acre campus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies for teaching faculty (Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors) and non-teaching staff (administrators, technical roles, support staff).
  • Source candidates through multiple channels, including LinkedIn, academic networks, job portals, campus placements, conferences, and faculty databases.
  • Create and post tailored job advertisements, screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate with department heads for technical evaluations and final selections.
  • Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle: from job requisition approval, candidate pipelining, offer negotiation, to onboarding coordination.
  • Build and maintain a talent pool for future openings, track recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance rates), and optimise processes for efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional hiring policies, reservation norms, and legal requirements; promote diversity and inclusion in faculty recruitment.
  • Collaborate with academic deans, Facilities Manager, Hostel Manager, and senior leadership to understand hiring needs and role requirements.
  • Organise campus recruitment drives, virtual interviews, and faculty selection panels.
  • Prepare recruitment reports and dashboards for the Director HR and leadership review.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field; certifications like SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 4 years focused on academic/educational institutions recruiting faculty and academic staff.
  • Proven track record in high-volume hiring for teaching and non-teaching roles in universities, colleges, or similar setups.
  • Strong network in academic circles and familiarity with UGC/AICTE norms for faculty recruitment.


Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), LinkedIn Recruiter (other platforms), and MS Office; data-driven approach to recruitment analytics.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and high-pressure hiring timelines.
  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to institutional values.
