Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Senior Logistics Executive
to manage and streamline domestic and international logistics operations for our CRGO steel business. The role requires hands-on experience with
specialized steel handling
,
dispatch planning
,
freight management
, and
customs compliance
. The ideal candidate should ensure cost-effective, timely, and damage-free deliveries of high-value CRGO material to customers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch & Shipment Execution:
- Plan, schedule, and execute dispatches of CRGO steel coils/sheets based on customer orders and production schedules.
- Supervise packaging, loading, and transportation to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Verify dispatch documents including delivery challans, invoices, e-way bills, LR, and packing lists.
- Freight & Transport Management:
- Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, and courier agencies for local, domestic, and export shipments.
- Negotiate freight rates and optimize transportation routes for cost-efficiency.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve transit delays or logistics bottlenecks.
- Inventory & Warehouse Coordination:
- Work closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure accurate inventory levels and material readiness.
- Monitor inventory movements (inward/outward), FIFO/LIFO practices, and stock reconciliation.
- Export & Import Logistics (if applicable):
- Handle documentation for export shipments: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, COO, Form A, and LC compliance.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, CHA, and port authorities to ensure timely clearance of import/export consignments.
- Manage compliance with DGFT, EXIM, and INCOTERMS requirements.
- ERP & Documentation Control:
- Ensure all logistics data is updated in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, freight bills, transit insurance, and delivery confirmations.
- Cost & Performance Optimization:
- Analyze logistics KPIs (OTIF, freight cost/unit, delivery cycle time).
- Drive continuous improvement in logistics processes, route planning, and carrier performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in logistics/supply chain in steel or heavy manufacturing industries
- Strong knowledge of GST, e-way bills, customs, and EXIM procedures.
- Excellent negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
