Sr. Application Engineer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly evaluate Form Fit Function compliance, prioritizing Form and Fit requirements.
• Review designs for manufacturability and conformance with customer and industry standards.
• Analyze deviations in Form and Fit, propose corrective actions, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
• Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for design improvements based on form and fit analysis.
• Inspect and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure products meet quality standards through detailed assessments and by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to resolve product and process concerns.
• Participate in design reviews, supplier meetings, and validation activities related to FFF.
• Prepare clear technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal and customer communication.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of experience in an application engineering or quality engineering role, with an emphasis on Form Fit Function evaluation.
• Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve form and fit issues.
• Proven track record in quality assessment and quality improvement.
• Effective communicator, capable of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Desired Skills and Competencies

• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on Form and Fit.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action processes.
• Experience using 3D CAD software and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
