Engineering Manager Candescent is a leading software and services platform provider in the financial industries. Candescent is headquartered in Atlanta. Right in the heart of the Silicon Prairie, Digital Banking D3 is smack dab in the middle of Omaha, Nebraska. At D3 we utilise the latest technology to build a cutting-edge product for financial institutions. Candescent Digital Banking D3 provides a comprehensive set of digital banking solutions embedded with personal financial management tools built on a single platform that is accessible anytime, anywhere, from any device. The D3 solution gives financial institutions the flexibility and control to engage more deeply with customers, increase retention, and cross-sell effectively. Our clients are leading the way digital banking is personalised and delivered to end users. Candescent is searching for a Technical Manager to join our team. Technical Manager is responsible for working closely with the other Development Manager, Architect, Enterprise Architect within the Engineering group to drive strategic architecture decisions in addition to implementing product enhancements. Responsibilities Manage large software development efforts and cross-functional scrum teams Facilitate Joint Application Design Sessions, Scrum Planning Sessions, Daily Stand-ups, etc. Collaborate with product managers, product owners and scrum coaches to achieve well defined release plans Define software development standards and engineering disciplines Provide leadership in implementing and enforcing industry best practices for software development Evaluate and communicate project risks in an appropriate and timely manner to stakeholders Foster continuous improvement using tools and engineering metrics Hire and on-board new personnel – support staff development Conduct performance evaluations, coach and counsel team members Provide an environment where engineering innovation and continuous learning can thrive and team commitment flourishes Develop a culture that encourages excellence and high job satisfaction Ideal Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent work experience 10+ years of experience in software industry. 6+ years proven track record of technical expertise in software engineering 5+ years in software development leadership capacity Deep knowledge of the architectural and technological tenets (API first, cloud native, microservice based, data driven, event driven, etc) Extensive experience with enterprise software platforms and a thorough understanding of large-scale system nonfunctional characteristics (e.g. performance, scalability, availability, etc.) Deep knowledge of the core platform technologies (JAVA Spring, React, React Native, iOS/Android, etc.) Experience with Agile methodologies Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong resource planning and management skills Strong interpersonal relationship skills Strong leadership Offers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job.
