As we expand our digital presence, we are looking for a Social Media Intern to help build and scale our presence across Facebook and Instagram.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, data-driven Junior Social Media Intern to support the growth of our Facebook and Instagram channels. This role is ideal for someone with foundational social media experience who wants to deepen their expertise in platform algorithms, viral content strategy, and community engagement while driving consistent follower growth and audience interaction for an established Australian company.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Growth

  • Assist in developing and executing growth strategies for Facebook and Instagram to increase followers, reach, and engagement.
  • Research and identify viral trends, hashtags, and growth opportunities to accelerate audience acquisition.
  • Support targeted campaigns, collaborations, and strategic partnerships to drive engagement and follower growth.
  • Apply growth-hacking techniques to optimize organic reach and follower conversion.

Content Creation & Management

  • Create high-quality, on-brand content including posts, reels, stories, and carousels tailored to platform trends and our professional audience.
  • Manage daily posting schedules to ensure consistent content delivery across both platforms.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain brand voice, messaging pillars, and content themes that resonate with B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Edit short-form videos and design visually compelling posts that balance professionalism with engagement.

Community Engagement

  • Manage community interactions, including DMs, comments, and relevant Facebook groups.
  • Foster meaningful conversations that build trust and credibility in the financial services space.
  • Monitor brand mentions and respond promptly to maintain positive sentiment.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor social media analytics and track KPIs, including follower growth, engagement rate, reach, and conversions.
  • Prepare weekly performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Assist with A/B testing on content formats, posting times, and messaging to optimize performance.
  • Stay updated on platform updates, algorithm changes, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of experience managing social media accounts (professional, freelance, or substantial personal brand experience).
  • Proven ability to create engaging social media content with measurable results.
  • Working knowledge of Instagram and Facebook features, tools, and best practices.
  • Basic video editing skills using tools such as CapCut, InShot, or Reels editor.
  • Proficiency in designing posts using Canva or similar tools.
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and grammar.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
  • Basic analytical skills to interpret social media metrics.
  • Portfolio or examples of previous social media work required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience growing social media accounts with documented results (follower growth, engagement increases).
  • Familiarity with social media management tools such as Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Later.
  • Basic understanding of Facebook and Instagram advertising.
  • Knowledge of content scheduling and planning strategies.
  • Experience with social media trends, viral content formats, and platform algorithms.
  • Interest or experience in B2B marketing or professional services sectors.
  • Degree or coursework in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related fields.
