Service Engineer - Electric Battery

About the Role:

The Service & Operations Engineer will oversee the end-to-end service operations for Lithium-ion battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS). This role involves managing field operations, customer support, technical service, and warranty processes, while ensuring maximum system uptime and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in battery systems, hands-on service experience, and operational leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Operations Management:

• Lead service operations for Lithium-ion battery packs and BMS installed across customer locations.
• Manage installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure timely response and resolution of service issues, meeting defined SLAs.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed service logs, warranty records, and performance data.
• Drive continuous improvement in field performance and service efficiency.

Technical & Product Support:

• Provide hands-on technical guidance on BMS calibration, diagnostics, and firmware updates.
• Support field engineers with troubleshooting of cells, modules, and communication interfaces (CAN, RS485, etc.).
• Monitor real-time data from deployed systems and identify anomalies or degradation trends.
• Liaise with R&D teams to communicate field feedback for design or software improvements.

Operational Leadership:

• Plan and manage service manpower, tools, and spare inventory.
• Implement and standardize SOPs for service and safety compliance.
• Optimize resource allocation and operational costs.
• Build and manage service network and third-party service partners.
• Ensure smooth coordination between manufacturing, logistics, and service operations.

Customer Relationship & Reporting:

• Act as the primary contact for key customers on technical and operational issues.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and quick resolution.
• Generate service performance reports and analyze failure trends for management review.
• Support pre-sales and deployment teams with technical expertise when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 3–8 years of experience in service, operations, or technical support related to

  Lithium-ion batteries, BMS, or EV systems.

• Strong understanding of battery pack design, cell balancing, SOC/SOH algorithms, and thermal management.
• Hands-on knowledge of diagnostic tools, data logging, and firmware upgrades.
• Experience in service tracking and operations planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and manage on-ground service teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to EV, ESS (Energy Storage Systems), or solar-integrated battery systems.
• Knowledge of safety standards such as AIS 156, IEC 62619, or UL 2580.
• Experience in handling field service data analytics and predictive maintenance systems.
• Prior team management and vendor coordination experience.
