Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Financial Management Bookkeeping & Reporting: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions (journal entries, ledger maintenance). Reconciliations: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations, vendor statement reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations. Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow statements) in compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the processing of accounts payable and the invoicing/collection process for accounts receivable. Audit Preparation: Coordinate and lead the preparation for internal and external audits. 2. Tax Compliance & PlanningDirect Tax: Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position. Indirect Tax: Manage compliance for indirect taxes, including Sales Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), or Goods and Services Tax (GST), depending on the operational region. Payroll Tax: Oversee the accurate and timely calculation and filing of payroll taxes. Tax Documentation: Maintain and organize all tax-related documentation, working papers, and correspondence. Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current with changes in tax law and accounting pronouncements to ensure continuous compliance. 3. Internal Controls & System Management Controls: Establish, implement, and maintain strong internal financial controls and accounting policies and procedures. System Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Tally). Budgeting Assistance: Collaborate with departmental managers to assist in budget preparation and monitoring. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA, CMA, or an equivalent professional certification is highly preferred. Experience: X+ years of experience in an accounting and/or tax role. Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (mention specific examples if necessary: SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, etc.). Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Solid understanding of relevant tax laws (Federal/State/International) and GAAP/IFRS principles. Soft SkillsExceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proven ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
