Job Description

Team Leadership & CoachingLead, mentor, and manage a team of Financial / Insurance Advisors (or junior team leaders) to achieve sales goals and performance targets. Conduct regular coaching and training to help team members improve skills, product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer handling. Delegate tasks and responsibilities based on team members’ strengths. 2. Recruitment & Expand Distribution NetworkRecruit and onboard new financial advisors or agents. Guide them through training and early sales cycles (including understanding IRDA guidelines if applicable). Expand the team’s reach via territory growth / partner acquisition. 3. Sales Strategy & Target ManagementSet sales, persistency and performance KPIs aligned with company goals. Plan and implement strategies (e.g., prospecting, cold calling, referrals) to achieve monthly / quarterly targets. Monitor team performance continuously; analyze gaps and drive corrective actions. 4. Customer Engagement & Product Advisory OversightOversee quality of client interactions—ensure accurate product explanation, regulatory compliance and client satisfaction. Resolve escalations, complaints, or critical policy/case issues in coordination with other departments. 5. Operational & Process ManagementEnsure smooth functioning of work flows: leads allocation, documentation (KYC etc.), premium collection, policy issuance. Maintain operational discipline – meet timelines, adhere to SLAs, ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. 6. Reporting & AnalyticsMaintain accurate records of performance metrics (sales, retention, productivity, etc.). Prepare and present periodic reports to senior management on team performance, challenges, and opportunities. Use data & feedback to refine strategy. 🎯 Skills & QualificationsQualification / ExperienceDetailsEducationBachelor’s degree preferred. Higher secondary/diploma acceptable depending on role.ExperienceSeveral years (often 3‑7 yrs) in insurance / financial services sales, with 1‑2 yrs in leadership.CommunicationStrong verbal & written skills; able to motivate and influence people.Analytical & PlanningAbility to set goals, plan execution, monitor metrics, make adjustments.Interpersonal SkillsConfidence in handling team & customer relations, conflict resolution. 🏆 Performance Metrics (KPIs)Sales volume / revenue generated Number of new agents recruited and onboarded Persistency / retention of clients/policies Quality of documentation / claim / underwriting issues Team productivity (conversion rates, lead closure, complaint resolution) Compliance adherence (IRDA / internal standards) 💡 Compensation & Salary ExpectationsAnnual salary for Senior Team Leader roles at Kotak Life is typically in the range ₹3.5‑7.5 lakh depending on experience & region.
