Job Description

Key Responsibilities: TDS Compliance: Handle end-to-end TDS processes including deduction, deposit, and filing of TDS returns as per the Income Tax Act. Ensure timely deduction of TDS on all eligible payments (salaries, contractor payments, professional fees, rent, etc.). Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, 27Q) accurately and within stipulated deadlines. Documentation and Reconciliation: Maintain detailed records of TDS deductions and payments. Reconcile TDS deducted with TDS deposited and TDS certificates issued. Coordinate with vendors and employees regarding TDS certificates and related queries. Reporting and Coordination: Liaise with the tax department and external auditors during audits and tax assessments. Generate periodic reports on TDS compliance status and share updates with senior management. Assist in preparing responses for notices or demands from tax authorities related to TDS. Regulatory Updates: Stay updated with changes in TDS rules, notifications, and government circulars. Implement process improvements based on regulatory changes and audit findings. Support Finance Team: Support payroll and accounts payable teams with TDS-related matters. Provide inputs for tax planning and assist in minimizing tax risks. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in TDS compliance at a corporate level, preferably in a reputed organization. Strong knowledge of Income Tax laws related to TDS and applicable regulations. Proficiency in TDS filing software and accounting ERP systems (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar). Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Good communication skills for internal and external coordination. Skills & Attributes: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
