This role is for one of our clients Industry: Mechanical Engineering Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Min Experience: 14 years Location : Bhavnagar JobType: full-time About the Role: We are looking for a dynamic and technically sound Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of large-scale engineering projects in the chemical or process industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background combined with proven experience managing multi-disciplinary projects involving structural, piping, mechanical, and civil work. This is a high-impact leadership role with end-to-end responsibility across project lifecycle management, vendor coordination, and budget control. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and site execution personnel to ensure that projects are delivered safely, within timelines, and with the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Project Ownership & Strategy: Lead and execute industrial engineering projects from concept to commissioning. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and KPIs aligned with business goals. Develop detailed project plans and track progress against timelines and budgets. ⚙️ Engineering & Design Management: Oversee mechanical and civil works including PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures, utility systems, and foundation engineering. Review and approve design layouts, equipment drawings, and piping plans using AutoCAD or equivalent design tools. Ensure technical specifications meet safety and process requirements. 🔧 Execution & Technical Oversight: Supervise on-ground execution of mechanical, piping, and structural installations. Ensure accurate fabrication, assembly, and installation of equipment such as dryers, heat exchangers, and process vessels. Resolve technical issues swiftly to minimize downtime and project delays. 🛠️ Vendor, Contractor & Procurement Coordination: Identify and onboard reliable contractors and suppliers for engineering and civil work. Monitor contractor performance, enforce quality standards, and ensure contractual compliance. Work with procurement to manage lead times, pricing, and logistics of materials and machinery. 📊 Cost & Risk Management: Prepare and control detailed project budgets and resource plans. Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and design optimization. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. 📋 Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) norms and statutory regulations. Maintain comprehensive documentation for inspections, audits, and regulatory approvals. Generate timely reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders. Who You Are: Mechanical Engineering graduate with 14–20 years of project execution experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing sectors. Proven experience in PEB, piping systems, plant infrastructure, heat exchanger design , and equipment fabrication. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD , engineering drawings, process layouts, and plant utility systems. Capable of managing large cross-functional teams and multiple contractors simultaneously. A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach , ready to take accountability for project milestones. Skilled in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control.
