Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with over 5 years of hands-on expertise in Cable & Wire Manufacturing.¿The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in cable manufacturing, process documentation, and plant-level analysis to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe production operations. Works under limited supervision. The Process Engineer will perform the process mapping and value stream mapping for the production and assembly lines of Oceaneering products like Subsea Umbilical, Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Remotely Operated Vehicles/Vessels (ROVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and similar Electro-mechanical systems. He/she will be additionally responsible for productivity improvement and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction in the plant processes.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Review and refine cable manufacturing process steps
- Create and review foundational documents: Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, I/O Lists, Cause & Effect Diagrams, etc.
- Document plant layout and value stream at the plant level.
- Define and monitor critical manufacturing parameters.
- Revalidate critical parameters to ensure consistency.
- Lead Process Validation Activities and Process documentation
- Conduct detailed analysis of existing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and enhance product quality.
- Provide technical support and resolve process-related issues to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency).
- Participate in discussion with cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Review the block diagrams / layout drawings prepared by entry level Engineers and Drafters for electrical, network, control circuits etc.
- Coordinate project deliveries and schedules with the Automation & Control teams globally.
- Peer-review work carried out by other engineers, review the documents prepared by the team and approve the same.
- Define functional processes and work towards continuous improvement. Work as a change agent to onboard relevant stakeholders
- Prepare reports and presentations on the status of the design and development process for discussion with stakeholders.
- Perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned
- Keep abreast of industry trends and issues
- Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals
- Work towards individual goals aligned with department and organizational objectives
- Comply to organizational HR policies and procedures
- Understand and adhere to organizational HSE policies and practices
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Post Graduation (Master degree) in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, or Production Engineering or equivalent degree with minimum five years of relevant industry experience, OR
- Graduation (Bachelor degree) in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, or Production Engineering or equivalent degree with minimum seven years of relevant industry experience,
DESIRED
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Cable Manufacturing Process
- Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems for Cable Manufacturing Machines.
- Ability to read P&IDs, Electrical/Hydraulic Schematics
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles
- Strong background in mathematics and/or statistics is highly desirable.
