Position Summary: This is a client facing leadership position within the Process Team, responsible for supporting multiple mid to large sized projects. The Lead Process Engineer will mentor less experienced Engineers; Piping Designers; and CAD Designers in the generation of design documents per the ARCADIS Design Deliverables Matrix. Typical design elements include Front End Engineering Design studies (Feasibility through the Basis of Design), P&IDs, equipment specification, design coordination through all project phases, process modeling, and reports on specific technical topics required by the project team. The Lead Process Engineer is expected to demonstrate expertise in a variety of process engineering unit operations and biological manufacturing methods and semi- conductor processes, supported by a wealth of design and/or operation experiences. Additional work activities include supporting other ARCADIS offices and Central Operations (i.e. Business Development) in ARCADIS Strategic Initiatives and presenting at relevant industry conferences and publications. The Lead Process Engineer will be mentored by the Discipline Manager and other Senior SME Design Staff within the greater ARCADIS Team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Engage with all levels of ARCADIS and client organizations on technical discussions related to the fields of Chemical and Biological Process Engineering. Manage large project team and support the Discipline Manager in completion of performance reviews for these team members. Advise as SME in the development of engineering documents, leveraging experience, good engineering judgment, and external resources. Accountable for overall execution of the Process Design including technical quality, budget, and schedule. Coordinate construction activities for large projects; manage TBA, Submittals, RFI, and vendor activities, field evaluations, and commissioning support. Applies good engineering judgement to daily work, able to support design decisions with sound reasoning and published data when appropriate. Advanced understanding of unit operations encountered in the field of Chemical Engineering with a special emphasis on those present in the Life Sciences, semi-conductor, and other highly technical fields. field. Qualifications & Experience At least 12 years experience in substation primary design, preferably in a consulting environment. At least 2 years experience in design & drafting electrical infrastructure in USA, general familiarity with the electricity supply industry, electricity transmission and distribution practices. Consulting experience in power projects in USA is preferred. Experience in the production of CAD documentation to USA Standards and other international design standards. Experience in processes from concept stage to construction and as-built drawings will also be beneficial. Graduate in Bachelor of Technology/ Science in Electrical Engineering from recognized University. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations. Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management. Ability to lead, and provide technical solutions to problems with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills. Actively continue to develop technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD training. Ability to work together as a team for the Group, not just the individual. Have knowledge of drafting and BIM, how to define BIM outcomes, BIM processes, how to coordinate a BIM project within the 3D environment and how to apply design to the models they produce. Role accountabilities: Manage P&ID project setup in CADWorx, ensuring alignment with project-specific requirements. Lead creation, modification, and review of P&IDs, ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical support for specific plant design projects in CADWorx. Develop PFDs and accurate P&IDs representing process flow, equipment, and instrumentation details. Establish best practices for P&ID development and enforce standards within CADWorx. Conduct thorough reviews to ensure P&IDs comply with project specifications and relevant standards. Provide technical guidance to draftsmen, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to P&ID library development. Qualifications & Experience: Possess a Diploma in a relevant technical or engineering discipline and hold certification in CADWorx or similar Plant design software. Demonstrate proven experience as a CADWorx Plant PID Administrator or Coordinator in plant design or related industries. Have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in P&ID project administration. Showcase in-depth knowledge of CADWorx software, including customization, library management, and project-specific configurations. Exhibit proficiency in using Cadworx for developing, reviewing, and validating P&IDs, including expertise in symbol libraries and annotation tools. Display a strong understanding of engineering and design principles relevant to plant layout, process flow, piping design, and instrumentation. Possess proficiency in CAD software and related tools, with the ability to integrate Cadworx P&ID into existing design workflows. Nice to have: Bachelors degree in an in a relevant technical or engineering Discipline. Sound knowledge in handling projects on cloud systems and working with Autodesk BIM 360. Affiliation to professional organizations like Autodesk etc. Experience of integrating 2D CAD drawings into a database environment.
