Job Purpose
Supports business objectives by ensuring the quality, accuracy, and performance of a high-traffic e-commerce mobile application (iOS and Android) that powers loyalty, booking, and guest-facing digital experiences. Leads test automation and validation practices that directly improve guest satisfaction.
Essential Job Results
- Validates reliability and functionality through scalable automation suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, EAS, or Jenkins).
- Drives continuous quality improvement using defect density metrics, coverage reports, and real-device regression cycles.
- Collaborates with mobile engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure friction-free user experiences at every release.
Duties May Include The Following
- Automation: Develop and maintain automated UI and API tests using tools such as Maestro or Appium, integrated into CI/CD workflows.
- API Validation: Use Postman to validate REST and GraphQL endpoints, including authentication and third-party integrations (e.g., payment, loyalty).
- Test Strategy: Design and execute manual and exploratory tests for new features, ensuring coverage of regression and edge cases.
- Defect Management: Log, triage, and validate issues in JIRA, collaborating closely with developers for root-cause analysis and re-testing.
- Performance & Visual Testing: Implement snapshot and visual regression tests (e.g., Maestro Compare) and verify app performance under load.
- Documentation: Maintain test plans, automation reports, and release validation checklists.
- Collaboration: Supports app releases by conducting regression testing and test case reviews as part of the QA sign-off process.
- Learning: Maintains awareness of testing best practices and contributes to continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.
- Security: Handles business-sensitive information with appropriate confidentiality.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on mobile QA and automation experience, including ownership of automated test frameworks for consumer-facing iOS/Android applications.
- Experience in high-volume e-commerce, travel, or loyalty platforms preferred.
- Experience testing on real devices and simulators/emulators (Maestro, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab).
- Familiarity with accessibility and localization testing.
- Has worked in a distributed Agile team across multiple time zones.
- Previous remote work experience is a must.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
May require any combination or all of the following skills:
- Automated testing using Maestro, Appium/Selenium WebDriver (preferred: JavaScript, TypeScript or Python scripting).
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI integration for automated test pipelines
- API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
- Defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
- Understanding of Agile software development practices and sprint-based workflows.
- Exposure to batch process validation and backend systems testing.
- SQL proficiency for data validation and backend test data and test case creation.
- Basic understanding of JSON, YAML and log file analysis.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Effective interpersonal communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
- Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly and apply them effectively.
- Technical mastery in area of specialty or broad multi-disciplinary knowledge.

- Strong understanding of the mobile SDLC, OTA release cycles, App Store/Play Store submission processes, and third-party integrations (e.g., loyalty, payments, maps, booking APIs)
