Job Description

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering leads high-performing teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, and innovative software solutions. This role drives engineering excellence, fosters collaboration, and ensures alignment with organisational strategy and customer needs.

Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development

Lead and mentor a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.

Manage staffing, performance reviews, and career development plans aligned with organisational goals.

Technical Strategy, Execution, and Architecture

Define and drive the technical roadmap for Network Services user experience telemetry products, ensuring implementation and continuous optimisation.

Design and deliver digital platforms to transform Traditional ways of Network telemetry to User Persona focussed telemetry.

Deliver AI-focused actionable insights and outputs from large telemetry datasets.

Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business objectives.

Deliver enterprise versions of products such as DOCx (Dedicated Operations for Clinical Experience).

Collaborate with product management and design teams to translate vision into secure technical solutions.

Demonstrate passion for building scalable, global, complex systems with proven ability to deliver high-quality software.

Operational Excellence

Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of NSIS Telemetry applications and solutions.

Establish and monitor KPIs for incident reduction, system health, and user satisfaction.

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Regional Network Hub, Remote Site Engineering, Firewall, CDO Network Team, C2E/EUTS, Infrastructure, and Application teams to deliver integrated workspace solutions.

Serve as a point of escalation for complex technical issues and ensure rapid resolution.

Build relationships and drive collaboration with vendors such as Netscout, Zscaler, and Selector AI.

Governance, Compliance, and Data

Ensure adherence to IT governance, change control, and compliance frameworks.

Understand data aggregation across hierarchical network telemetry setups and build solutions to meet Network Operations Support team needs.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

Understand the nuances of AI project execution and focus on delivering tangible, responsible AI-driven value.

Product Support and Strategy

Work closely with senior leaders at VP level.

Translate high-level ideas or feedback from leadership into products and solutions by leading from the front.

Respond to customer urgency and deliver solutions from concept to implementation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

15+ years of software engineering and architecture experience.

10+ years of integration/interface implementation experience.

Extensive knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, React JS, end-to-end DevOps, PLM, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Strong understanding of SSO, logging, monitoring, and alerting for enterprise-grade applications.

Expertise in integrating network tools with telemetry solutions.

10+ years of experience delivering products and value within an Agile development framework.

Network domain knowledge on user experience metrics (e.g., Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN, DNS, HTTP, critical application performance).

Proven experience in software engineering and architecture roles, preferably in large-scale enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and modern software development practices.

Required Competencies

Strong expertise in software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).

Proficiency in architecture and design principles.

Ability to evaluate emerging tools and techniques for organisational benefit.

Leadership and stakeholder management skills with a focus on innovation and delivery.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication, relationships and collaboration skills.

Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Experience working with cross-functional teams (Network, Infrastructure, Care Delivery Organisations, HR, IT, Finance).

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
