Job Description
Senior Manager, Accounts Payable
What this job involves:
The person will be responsible for running and managing the Finance & Accounts processes. Should be subject matter expert of Finance & Accounting processes covering all major activities across AP, AR and GA.
Should have capability and experience in managing large teams. Ensure a highly motivated and performing team
Experience in managing multiple stakeholders. Ensure staff performance, team building, motivation and development of the team and establish performance expectations and review the performance on a regular basis
Providing operational excellence to achieve SLA deliverables
Work collaboratively with business / clients’ teams and assume overall responsibility for communication and engagement when transitioning new services and accounts
Establish deep relationships with key stakeholders, and understand and address process pain points
Must be able to provide meaningful insights to leaders and stakeholders to ensure informed decisions can be taken by leadership team
Obtain and maintain deep knowledge of the processes and identify opportunities to drive efficiencies through standardization, continuous improvement, transformation, and bench marking across similar industries.
Must be able to drive organization strategy, build a strong structure, manage staffing, improve skills and define style in line with the organization’s vision
Always ensure 100% compliance to internal and external audits and controls
Provide direction and coaching to the operations team to align to organization goals and deliver on commitments consistently
Proactively share success stories with the leadership organization
Inculcate a culture of proactiveness and ownership amongst team to drive BAU operations and change through tactical and strategic improvement initiatives
Ensure attrition rates are below industry average figures. Ensure active participation in recruitment activities
Mentor operations team in implementing process improvements
Sounds like you? To apply you need to be/have:
University Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance / Accountancy / Commerce, with ~10 years of work experience in Finance & Accounting, including ~8-10 years of experience of managing teams
Proven team leadership and people management skills, ability to handle large and diverse F&A teams)
Proven client management skills. Ability to build impactful customer relationship and drive collaborative behavior and work across multiple hierarchies across internal and external stakeholders
Deep understanding of business processes, offshore business environment. Must have had prior experience in transitions
Must be flexible and able to work under pressure, multitask and effectively prioritize.
Very strong communication skills and awareness of cross geographical cultures
Ability to coach, mentor and develop talent. Must also be able to hold difficult conversations, whenever necessary
Six Sigma Green Belt certified (Preferred)
Proven ability to identify opportunities and drive improvements to closure. Must be self-driven
Creative thinking, analytical and an innovative mind-set. Must be solution orientated
Ability to foresee risks, be proactive and predictive while developing risk mitigation plans
Keen to apply best practices from previous experience and similar organizations
Performance objectives
Ensure agreed KPIs are met / exceeded each month
Work within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision
Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, uses analytics and insights as key tools to makes sound decisions/presentations
Attrition levels at below industry levels
Succession planning of key resources
Engage and communicate clearly, confidently and in a concise manner with internal and external stakeholders and see things from their perspective with solution-oriented approach
Bring a developmental, structured, and organized approach to everything they do
Thrive under pressure and deal effectively with tight deadlines and high expectations
