Job Overview

We are looking for Senior Executive– Accounts with 5–7 years of experience, preferably in the Shipping / Logistics industry, to oversee day-to-day finance operations and support the Finance leadership in driving accuracy, efficiency, and process improvements. The role involves managing accounting activities, preparing reports, ensuring proper controls, and guiding team members. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in accounting principles, hands-on experience in Tally, and the ability to take ownership of end-to-end accounting processes while understanding industry-specific nuances.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
• Prepare MIS reports, financial summaries, and analytical insights for management review.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for expense monitoring, cost tracking, and budget support.
• Drive improvements in accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Supervise and support junior team members in their day-to-day activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies (basic tax and statutory compliance in coordination with consultants).
• Assist in audit preparation and provide necessary schedules and reconciliations.
• Support the GM – Finance & Accounts in strategic decision-making through data and financial insights.
• Apply knowledge of the Shipping / Logistics sector, including freight billing, demurrage, port charges, and industry-specific accounting practices.

Requirements

• MBA Finance/CA Inter
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance operations, preferably within the Shipping / Logistics industry.
• Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and MIS.
• Industry-specific knowledge of freight accounting, vendor payments, port & transport-related reconciliations will be an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate across departments.
