DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide design direction and lead the project from beginning till site completion
- Collaborate and focus on large client accounts with a variety of project types and/or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.
- Programming client needs, Conceptual design, Schematic design & Design Development, Construction documentation & administration
- Develop space planning concepts and lead selection of furniture, fabrics, equipment, lighting and specifications
- Associate with consultants, subject matter experts, vendor partners and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
- Pro-actively manage client expectations with team & consultant coordination
- Mentorship & Team Management: Pro-actively manage team communication and consultant coordination
- Ensure top talent hiring, training & development, succession planning and retention
- Collaborative and team-conscious - Ability to work with a large project team, across geographically dispersed offices

- Combining exceptional design skills with technical knowledge and augment it with business feasibility to produce functionally optimum and high design spaces for clients
- Ensure that projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting business objectives and design guidelines.
- Prepare and make project-related presentations to clients.
- Schedule & coordinate meetings, publish meeting agendas, capture and publish minutes of meeting to keep track of requirements, grievances and feedback.
- Understand, implement and follow relevant methodology, processes and standards to ensure that all project team members understand and follow them.
- Ensure invoices for design consultancy projects are raised on-time and outstanding are collected as per the terms agreed with the client.
- Maintain a detailed project plan with clear cut milestones and associated resources requirements for every project.
- Plan, in conjunction with Design Director Resource allocation and management to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Pitch additional work to existing clients in order to increase repeat business.
Drawings, Designs & Documentation: -
- Ensure complete ownership of BOQ, Specification & GFC drawings that are delivered to the site.
- Ensure working drawings adhere to DSP and DAD standards.
- Review drawings made by team members to ensure they are of required quality and guide them where appropriate.
- Ensure drawings for D&B projects are in line with internal procurement team.
- Provide necessary inputs in the development & detailing of designs as and when required.
- Maintain project documentation as required to ensure a record of revisions issued thereby maintaining a log for change management
Co-ordination and Site Supervision
- Coordinate with Clients, Directors, Design Leads, Team Members, Consultants, Municipal authorities to ensure provide project related data/information.
- Interacting with Service Consultants / Partners, Project Team, Design Team, Architect Team & Technical Staff for execution of project.
- Coordinate with the Site Supervisor to note the progress onsite.
- Check sample materials used to ensure they adhere to quality standards and comply with the design.
Liaison for Completion Certificates: -
- Liaison with certificate bodies to obtain required certificates for proper completion of project.
- Coordinate with architect and structural engineers
People Development & Team handling: -
- Lead and mentor team - Acquire new skills and keep self and team abreast of global practices and trends
- Ensure development needs of Team Members are identified and the needs are appropriately met through training/other means.
- Ensure team adapts to new presentation techniques by use and implementation of new software
KEY DECISION(S)
- Make critical decisions with clients and ensure the project vision is maintained until completion
- Decisions on optimizing manpower across the project life cycle
Communication (External & Internal): -
- Provide periodic updates to the client in a clear and documented manner of all aspects of
- Interact regularly with team members involved in project to ensure smooth execution of the project.
- Provide periodic updates on the status of various projects to Studio Head, &DSP Management
- Provide regular updates to DSP Billing & Accounts on invoicing and projection of projects billing cycle.
Business Generation:
• Farming existing relationships to generate new opportunities for design work for DSP
• Introduce DSP capabilities to new clients
• Participate in pitches/ new RFP creation
Administration & Operations
• Work with respective HR, Admin, Finance head, Support in monitoring & implementation of respective department policies & activities.
• Optimize Organizational procedures, enhancing productivity, & contributing to overall efficiency.
