IT&S GroupJob Summary:In this role you will work closely with data scientists to develop products that use AI in one of our business areas. You’ll be working on developing applications using Python or C++ depending upon the project requirements. This could include designing and implementing machine learning models, natural language processing algorithms, computer vision techniques or other AI technologies. You’ll need to have strong programming skills and experience of developing software applications. You should also have some knowledge of machine learning and AI. Experience of working with data scientists would be beneficial but not essential as we provide training for this area. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, curious and has good communication skills to help us deliver innovative solutions that make a real difference to our organisation.Job Responsibilities:

• Developing software applications using Python or C++
• Working with data scientists to understand problems and opportunities where AI can add value
• Implementing AI technology such as machine learning models, natural language processing algorithms, computer vision techniques or other AI technologies
• Creating prototypes to test out ideas quickly and effectively
• Writing clear documentation to explain your work and share knowledge with others
• Presenting your findings and recommendations to stakeholders within BP
• Keeping up-to-date with new developments in AI and related technologies
• Supporting the development of AI strategy within BP
  

Job Qualifications:

• Degree level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or another technical subject
• Excellent coding skills in Python or C++
• Knowledge of AI technologies such as machine learning, computer vision or natural language processing
• Good understanding of software development methodologies and agile approaches
• Experience of developing software applications
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
• Comfortable working in a team and across teams
• Ability to take ownership and responsibility for your work
• Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
