Senior Accounts Officer

Job Title: Senior Accounts Officer Department: Finance & Accounts Location: Pune Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance Industry: Electrical Infrastructure / Power & Utilities Employment Type: Full-time Job Purpose: The Senior Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations including general ledger, project accounting, balance sheet finalization, and compliance. This role ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions, particularly in the context of EPC/Electrical infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Management: Maintain day-to-day accounting operations in compliance with applicable standards. Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations. Finalize trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet monthly, quarterly, and annually. Supervise Accounts Payable/Receivable processes and ensure timely payments and collections. Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and ensure proper documentation. Taxation Project Accounting: Track project-wise costs, revenues, and profitability for multiple infrastructure projects. Work closely with Project Managers to capture project-related financial data. Ensure accurate cost allocations and monitor budget vs. actual expenditures. Maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition as per contract milestones. Statutory Compliance & Audit: Ensure timely statutory filings (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT, ROC, etc.). Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors and assist in audits. Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly MIS and financial reports. Financial Controls: Implement and maintain internal financial controls and SOPs. Assist in cost control and budgeting initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial systems and reporting. Qualifications and Experience: Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA (Finance) Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience in the infrastructure, EPC, or construction industry, preferably with project-based accounting exposure. Preferred: Experience in ERP software (e.g., Tally Prime). Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and taxation. Hands-on experience in finalization of accounts and financial statements. Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects. Remuneration: Commensurate with experience and industry standards.
