Senior Accountant – Hospitality

Role Overview:


The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee all financial operations of the hospitality property/group. This includes ensuring accurate accounting records, timely financial reporting, and compliance with hotel industry regulations and local statutory requirements. The role requires close coordination with operations, front office, and F&B teams to maintain strong financial control and support business growth.



Key Responsibilities:


• Financial Reporting: Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as per hospitality industry standards.

• Hotel Revenue Accounting: Oversee daily revenue reports from front office/POS systems and reconcile room, F&B, banquet, and other departmental revenues.

• Cost Control & Inventory: Monitor F&B costs, perform monthly inventory checks, and track variances.

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage vendor payments, guest ledger reconciliations, and credit control.

• Taxation & Compliance: Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory returns for the hospitality sector.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts in coordination with operations and management teams.

• Audit Coordination: Work with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth statutory and internal audits.

• Process Improvement: Implement financial controls and best practices specific to hotels and resorts.

• Team Collaboration: Guide junior accountants and coordinate with department heads to ensure accurate financial data.



Key Skills & Competencies:


• Strong understanding of hospitality revenue cycles (rooms, banquets, F&B)

• Hands-on experience with hotel accounting software (e.g., IDS, Opera, Fidelio, or similar) and ERP systems

• Good knowledge of GST, TDS, and hotel industry compliance

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-control skills

• Advanced MS Excel skills and financial analysis capability

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills



Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting (CA/ICWA Inter preferred)

• 4–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in the hospitality or hotel industry
