The Role
- KEY ACTIVITIES OF POSITION:
- Support pricing and estimation at pre-award stage.
- Performance Analysis, benchmarking and credibility assessment of Performance metrics.
- Proposal and Pre-contract review support.
- Identification and optimization of margin enhancement opportunities during execution.
- Best practice is shared and coordinated under the stewardship of the Commercial Management Committee
relationships.
- KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF POSITION
- Commercial acumen – clearly understand the business (including financial) of decisions made by clients and/or project teams.
- Having knowledge of Engineering Services / EP / EPC / EPCM mode of contracts will be beneficial
- High level of interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships, obtain cooperation and develop collaborative working
- Microsoft suite of software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and high level of proficiency in the use of Excel spread sheets and modelling
- A thorough understanding of project risks, understanding with which party the risk vests and the potential impact on time and cost
- Ability to analyze contracts and different business models to understand key Commercial issues and the Terms and Conditions required.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups.
- Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
- Able to work effectively with small to large multi-disciplinary Location teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams across the
region.
- Providing Pre-Contract and Proposal resource support, Performance Analysis, Cost & Pricing benchmarking and commercial acumen.
- Standardizing pricing methodology and review materials related to pricing estimates, ensuring pricing is transparent and comprehensive.
- Proposal development support to Location teams and Business Development managers by analysing and scrutinizing commercial terms on
- contracts, Tenders or RFQ's, to aid in the determination of optimal Commercial Strategies.
- Understand and adhere to DOA.
- Support project controls/ project accounting to aid in post-award reviews where required to ensure as sold margins are achieved and
proactively follow up on deviations.
- Training and sharing of best practice: Support and ensure delivery of the training programs which develops commercial understanding
across the region
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- 3-5 years of sound experience in a similar role and evidence of a “commercial” focus.
- Evidence of superior analytical and numeracy skills including displaying a logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Excel Skills and expertise.
- Post award experience would be an added advantage.
