Job Description – Senior Accountant (UAE Operations)

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting, finance, and compliance activities for UAE operations. The role requires maintaining accurate financial records, managing audits, ensuring VAT & Corporate Tax compliance, handling payroll, and supporting management with financial analysis and reporting.

Location: Thrissur

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS and management requirements.
  • Conduct variance and trend analysis, providing insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly recorded, classified, and summarized.
  • Develop customized financial dashboards and periodic MIS reports for management.

2. Audit & Compliance

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure strict compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and other statutory laws.
  • Liaise with external auditors for annual audits and support statutory filings.
  • Maintain documentation for tax returns and ensure timely submission of returns and payments.

3. Budgeting & Cash Flow Management

  • Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts for UAE operations.
  • Monitor budget adherence, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage cash flow statements, optimize working capital, and ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Support cost control initiatives and evaluate operational expenditure efficiency.

4. ERP & Accounting Systems Management

  • Maintain and operate company accounting systems
  • Ensure accuracy of system entries, data integrity, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Lead improvements in financial process automation and ERP optimization.

5. Payroll & Employee Cost Management

  • Oversee payroll processing for UAE employees in coordination with HR/Admin.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law and statutory obligations for payroll deductions, gratuity, and benefits.
  • Maintain employee compensation records, ensure accuracy of payslips, and reconcile payroll accounts.
  • Oversee timely remittance of WPS and related statutory filings.

6. Reconciliation & Record Validation

  • Conduct periodic reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier & customer ledgers, and intercompany accounts.
  • Review historical financial records to correct or align prior inconsistencies.
  • Ensure accurate postings, balance confirmations, and adjustment entries as per accounting principles.

7. Risk & Cost Management

  • Identify financial risks related to liquidity, cost overruns, or delayed receivables.
  • Propose mitigation strategies and maintain internal controls to reduce financial exposure.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance profitability.

8. Team Support & Collaboration

  • Mentor and guide junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement, projects, and operations teams for budget alignment.
  • Coordinate with banks, vendors, and clients on financial matters and reconciliations.

9. Strategic Support

  • Contribute to strategic decision-making through financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Provide insights to management on capital allocation, return on investment, and financial performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of accounting experience of UAE operations, including exposure to VAT and Corporate Tax.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of IFRS/IAS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
