Job Summary
Responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the codebase. Makes decisions affecting architecture of the test codebase including which software to use for writing test code. Focuses on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency. Develops and maintains code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and common programming languages. Provides input into various software development lifecycle stages. Partners with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices. Executes automated code and creates comprehensive execution reports for team. Repairs complex broken automation scripts and performs peer reviews of automation codebase. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.

About The Role
We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives across backend (Karate) and frontend (Playwright/Cypress). You will play a key role in defining QA strategy, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring test automation is deeply integrated into CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins. You’ll also leverage AWS to build scalable, reliable, and cloud-ready test solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of automation frameworks for APIs and UIs.
- Mentor and guide junior/mid-level QA engineers.
- Own the quality strategy across frontend and backend systems.
- Develop scalable test solutions using Karate, Playwright, and Cypress.
- Integrate test suites into GitHub Actions and Jenkins CI/CD workflows.
- Collaborate with DevOps to run automated tests in AWS environments.
- Drive test coverage improvements and contribute to code reviews.
- Actively participate in sprint planning, grooming, and release management.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in QA automation with leadership exposure.
- Strong expertise in:
- - Karate (API automation).
- - Playwright & Cypress (UI automation).
- - GitHub Actions & Jenkins (CI/CD automation).
- - AWS (deployment, test execution, cloud infrastructure knowledge).
- Experience designing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with performance testing (JMeter, Gatling).
- Familiarity with security testing.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana).
- Hands-on with Docker/Kubernetes for test environments.
