Job Profile Regional Sales Manager (North India)

Position Title:

Role Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) North India will be responsible for driving sales growth, market share, and brand presence in the assigned region. The role involves managing distributor and dealer networks, developing new business opportunities, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving regional sales targets in line with company objectives. The RSM will also act as a link between the head office and the field, ensuring seamless communication and implementation of sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the North India region.
  • Develop and execute a regional sales plan aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in the commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors using rubber insulation products.
  • Monitor sales performance and take corrective measures to address gaps.

2. Distributor & Dealer Network Management

  • Appoint, manage, and support distributors, dealers, and channel partners in the region.
  • Ensure adherence to company credit policies and payment terms.
  • Regularly review distributor performance and address issues impacting sales or collections.
  • Assist in implementing company policy changes (e.g., credit terms, supply policies) in the distributor network.

3. Market Development

  • Identify emerging trends, market demands, and potential segments for growth in rubber insulation and related product lines.
  • Build relationships with architects, consultants, contractors, OEMs, and project developers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan promotional campaigns, trade shows, and region-specific activities.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts to ensure repeat business and loyalty.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, technical queries, and product issues promptly.
  • Organize product demonstrations and technical presentations for clients and influencers.

5. Competitor & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor pricing, product launches, and strategies.
  • Provide regular feedback to management for strategic decision-making.

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, motivate, and guide the regional sales team to achieve targets.
  • Provide training and product knowledge to team members, distributors, and dealers.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth order execution and collections.

7. Reporting & Compliance

  • Submit regular sales reports, collection updates, and market intelligence to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and ethical business practices.
  • Participate in fortnightly cross-functional review meetings with the factory and finance teams.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering / Business Administration; MBA in Marketing preferred.
  • 8–12 years of sales experience, preferably in HVAC, building materials, insulation products, or related industries.
  • Excellent relations with consultants situated in the North
  • Proven track record in managing regional sales, distributor networks, and achieving targets.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the North India market and customer base.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the region.
