About the Role


Responsible for end-to-end procurement to support sales targets, ensuring timely sourcing of materials within defined cost and quality parameters. Coordinated logistics for smooth shipment and delivery, while closely collaborating with sales, project, and commercial teams. Led vendor development, evaluation, and onboarding, and managed supplier relationships through ongoing feedback, issue resolution, and satisfaction assessments.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain a commercially sound vendor base, survey the market for new supply sources including non-traditional ones, and maintain Project “Approved Vendor List”; also evaluate vendor performance on a continuous basis.
  • Develop vendor evaluation, vendor assessment, and onboarding systems to ensure a reliable and quality vendor network.
  • Develop vendor allocation plan for awarding new projects – allocation of share of business to vendors based on their capabilities, financial strengths, and available resources.
  • Negotiate with vendors and finalize the commercial offers as per the project timelines and budgets.
  • Achieve cost savings over the baseline cost as per the plan through effective sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Finalize Pan-India rate contracts for commonly bought-out items across regions to bring consistency and scale benefits.
  • Strengthen documentation – execute long-term sub-contracting agreements with key vendors, review purchase order terms and conditions, and document price escalation matters.
  • Ensure release of timely payment to vendors as per the agreed payment terms and in line with contractual obligations.
  • Support the Technical teams in cost estimation by providing price and material availability schedules, and establish validation processes for cost changes linked to benchmark indices.
  • Ensure timely delivery of material as per project timelines, formulate purchasing strategies by project type, and monitor market conditions, delivery trends, and new material innovations for potential cost savings.

Academic Qualification & Experience


  • Graduate Mechanical / Electrical Engineer
  • 4 to 8 Years
