Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Sr. Executive- Vendor Development & NPD, located in Ludhiana. The Sr. Executive will be responsible for developing and managing vendor relationships, identifying potential vendors, and conducting vendor assessments. Day-to-day tasks include negotiating contracts, managing vendor performance, and collaborating with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. The role also involves overseeing new product development (NPD) efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that new products meet market demands and quality standards. Qualifications Experience in vendor development, vendor management, and contract negotiation Strong skills in new product development (NPD) and project management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining vendor relationships Proficiency in data analysis, vendor assessment, and performance management B.tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Vendor Sourcing & Assessment  Identify and qualify new vendors for raw materials (steel, alloy, plating chemicals), packaging materials, tooling, and subcontracted processes like heat treatment and surface coating.  Conduct supplier assessments focusing on quality systems, production capacity, and cost efficiency.  Float inquiries, collect quotations, and perform comparative analysis. 2. Vendor On boarding & Audits  Manage vendor registration, documentation, and system entries in ERP.  Coordinate with quality team for technical evaluations and trial approvals.  Conduct audits to assess compliance with ISO, IATF, or customer-specific requirements. 3. Cost Optimization & Negotiation  Negotiate prices and terms to ensure best value procurement aligned with the company’s cost reduction goals.  Monitor market trends for raw material prices (steel grades, zinc, etc.) and advise on strategic sourcing decisions. 4. Quality & Delivery Assurance  Work closely with QA and Production to resolve supplier quality issues like thread tolerances, plating inconsistencies, or material rejections.  Track delivery timelines and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time supply for production continuity. 5. Vendor Performance Monitoring  Maintain supplier performance data: quality rejections, lead times, delivery adherence, and responsiveness.  Develop monthly vendor scorecards and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 6. Coordination & Reporting  Coordinate with design, planning, and stores departments to ensure procurement aligns with production schedules and BOM changes.  Maintain documentation for audits, customer traceability, and certifications (ROHS, MSDS, etc.). 7. New Product Development (NPD)  Collaborate with the design and sales teams to support the launch of new products.  Work closely with suppliers for sample development, technical trials, and validation of new products.  Ensure all new product developments align with customer specifications, drawings, and application requirements.  Coordinate first article inspections, PPAP, APQP, and FMEA documentation for new parts
