Job Title: Maintenance Purchase Executive Department: Engineering Purchase Reporting To: Project Head & Engineering Purchase Manager Location: Ayanambakam, Chennai. - 600095 --- Job Purpose: To manage and execute the procurement of maintenance-related items such as spares, consumables, tools, and services. Ensure timely availability of materials for preventive and breakdown maintenance while optimizing cost, quality, and vendor reliability. --- Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement Activities: * Source, negotiate, and procure spare parts, tools, lubricants, and maintenance consumables. * Create purchase orders based on indents, requisitions, and maintenance schedules. * Ensure timely delivery to avoid machine downtime. 2. Vendor Management: * Identify and develop reliable vendors for engineering and maintenance items. * Evaluate vendor performance (delivery time, quality, cost). * Maintain a preferred vendor list and ensure alternate sourcing. 3. Inventory & Store Coordination: * Coordinate with the engineering store team for stock level monitoring. * Ensure reordering of fast-moving spares and critical items. * Implement ABC/VED analysis to optimize inventory. 4. Documentation & Compliance: * Maintain proper documentation: PO, GRN, invoices, test certificates. * Comply with ISO/quality audit documentation and procurement policies. 5. Cost & Quality Control: * Ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality. * Get multiple quotes and prepare comparative statements. * Handle warranty claims and replacements for defective parts. 6. Coordination & Communication: * Work closely with maintenance, planning, production, and finance teams. * Track order status and resolve issues like delays or discrepancies. --- Qualifications & Skills: Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience: 1–5 years in industrial maintenance purchase or engineering procurement. Skills: * Good knowledge of mechanical/electrical spares and maintenance items. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and MS Excel. * Understanding of procurement cycle, inventory control, and vendor evaluation. --- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): * Purchase lead time * Cost savings achieved * Vendor performance score * Stock-out incidents * PO-to-delivery accuracy --- Language: Tamil & English must Hindi will be added advantage. Must have a vehicle and license.
