Job Title:
Production Manager – Food Manufacturing / Co-Packing
Reports to:
Plant Manager / Operations Head / Director – Manufacturing
Job Summary:
The Production Manager leads and manages all manufacturing operations within the plant to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, and according to quality standards. This role is responsible for managing production planning, supervising production teams, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:Production Planning & Execution
· Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer orders and inventory targets.
· Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to achieve production targets.
· Coordinate with supply chain for raw material availability and with QA for product release.
Operational Excellence
· Monitor and improve key production metrics (OEE, line efficiency, waste, yield).
· Drive initiatives to reduce downtime, enhance throughput, and improve cost per unit.
· Ensure compliance with all process SOPs and best manufacturing practices.
Food Safety & Quality
· Enforce GMP, HACCP, and company food safety policies on the production floor.
· Work closely with QA to maintain product quality, handle deviations, and implement corrective actions.
· Prepare for and actively participate in customer and regulatory audits (FSSAI, BRC, FSSC 22000).
Team Leadership
· Manage, train, and motivate production supervisors and operators.
· Develop skill matrix and multi-skill training to build a flexible workforce.
· Ensure a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability.
Maintenance & Asset Management
· Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize unplanned stoppages.
· Support CAPEX projects and commissioning of new lines/equipment.
Reporting & Compliance
· Maintain accurate records of production data, downtime, waste, and other KPIs.
· Prepare and present production performance reports to management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Food Technology, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
· 7-10 years’ experience in food manufacturing, with at least 3-4 years in a supervisory / managerial role.
· Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations, and production best practices.
· Exposure to high-speed packaging and automated lines is an advantage.

Work Environment:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
