Production Manager

The Production Manager will oversee the production process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality jewellery pieces. The role requires extensive experience managing production, a deep understanding of jewellery.

Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning and Management:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
• Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure deadlines are met.
• Manage resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery.

2. Quality Control:

• Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications. -
• Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and conduct regular inspections.
• Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.

3. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, including craftsmen and technicians.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and training.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.

4. Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and output.
• Establish SOP and Work Instructions of the all the processes and product-wise if need be.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Develop and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality.
• Gold Loss control: - Ensure the recovery of gold is as per Industry Standards
• Find ways to reduce Gross loss of the product.

5. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
• Coordinate with internal team and vendors to ensure timely procurement of materials.
• Oversee the logistics of material handling and storage.

6. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations and standards.
• Implement and enforce health and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

7. Budget Management:

• Prepare and manage the production budget.
• Monitor expenses and identify areas for cost reduction.
• Report on production costs and financial performance.

8. Output and Efficiency Monitoring:

• Track and analyze production metrics to ensure optimal output and efficiency.
• Implement strategies to maximize production capacity and minimize downtime.
• Set performance targets and monitor progress to achieve productivity goals.

9. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the NPD teams to align sample lines and enable production-friendly output.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding production status and any issues.
• Coordinate with the design, merchandising & category teams for the launch of new products.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Jewellery Design, or a related field Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of studded fine jewellery manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in using production management software.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and techniques

Experience

• 12-15 years of experience in jewellery manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
