Product Owner

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Strategy

• Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for digital insurance products (e.g., customer portals, agent apps, policy servicing tools).
• Translate business goals into product features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriting, claims, sales, marketing, and compliance to gather requirements and align product goals.
• Act as the voice of the customer and business within the development team.
• Present product updates, roadmaps, and performance metrics to senior leadership.

Agile Delivery

• Lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
• Work closely with Scrum Masters, UX/UI designers, and developers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Make real-time decisions on scope and priorities during development cycles.

Customer-Centric Innovation

• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Drive digital adoption and enhance customer experience through intuitive and scalable product features.

Compliance & Risk Awareness

• Ensure all digital products comply with IRDAI regulations and internal risk frameworks.
• Work with legal and compliance teams to incorporate necessary checks and balances.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of the Indian insurance landscape (Life, Health, or General Insurance).
• Proven experience in digital product development and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Figma, and analytics platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. MBA is a plus.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification.
• Experience working in a digital-first or insurtech environment is highly desirable.
