About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to join our dynamic procurement team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the efficient sourcing and purchasing of industrial minerals from both domestic and international markets.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiation, and inventory management, with relevant experience in the mining or minerals industry. You’ll be responsible for driving cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely procurement operations to support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
• Strategic Sourcing: Conduct market analysis to identify cost-effective and sustainable sources; stay updated on mining industry trends.
• Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve optimal deals.
• Purchase Order Management: Create, review, and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all procured minerals meet specified quality and compliance standards.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and plan reorders to maintain optimal inventory.
• Cost Analysis: Prepare procurement reports and perform cost analyses for continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align purchasing strategies with operational needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (a background in Mineralogy or Mining Engineering is a strong plus).
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing/sourcing industrial minerals, preferably within the mining sector.
• Proven skills in vendor management, negotiation, and procurement operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to interpret and act on market trends and cost data.
• Candidates currently based in Chennai or willing to relocate to Chennai are preferred.
