Role Overview

Raw Materials Procurement professional

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Sourcing & Coordination

• Coordinate sourcing of raw materials used in cosmetics and personal care products in line with business requirements
• Work with approved vendors to ensure consistent quality, availability, and timelines
• Collaborate with Quality and R&D teams to ensure materials meet expected quality standards

Costing & Commercial Management

• Own raw material costing and price benchmarking
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and commercials to achieve cost efficiency
• Monitor cost trends and proactively identify cost optimisation opportunities
• Ensure material costs remain competitive without compromising quality

Quality Alignment (Non-Compliance Role)

• Ensure raw materials received are of expected quality through coordination with Quality teams
• Address quality-related concerns with vendors in collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Support vendor evaluations based on quality consistency and commercial performance

Data Management & MIS

• Maintain accurate procurement data including pricing, vendor details, consumption, and inventory-related inputs
• Build and manage trackers and dashboards for material costs, sourcing status, and trends
• Ensure data accuracy to support planning, budgeting, and leadership reviews

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key point of contact between vendors and internal teams (Quality, R&D, Planning, Finance)
• Communicate clearly on material status, pricing changes, and risks
• Escalate issues with data-backed insights and suggested solutions

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare regular MIS reports on costing, sourcing status, vendor performance, and savings
• Present structured updates to management and relevant stakeholders
• Maintain commercial documentation such as POs, pricing records, and agreements

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of raw materials used in cosmetics / personal care products
• Excellent costing, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; data-driven mindset
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Commercially minded with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured corporate environment
