Job Description:

Fortran Steel Pvt. Ltd. is a leading player in the steel trading and manufacturing industry, and we are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team at our Taloja MIDC location. The Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in managing the procurement activities of raw materials and other supplies required for our steel production and trading operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy to ensure a consistent and cost-effective supply of raw materials, equipment, and services for our steel manufacturing and trading operations.
2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Continuously assess supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
3. Cost Optimization: Implement cost reduction strategies and initiatives while maintaining quality standards. Analyze market trends and leverage industry knowledge to identify cost-saving opportunities.
4. Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and trading requirements. Minimize excess and obsolete inventory through efficient demand forecasting and inventory control.
5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that all procured materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
6. Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting procurement.
7. Budget Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget. Monitor expenses and report on variances, making recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
8. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and supplier reliability issues.
9. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
10. Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments relevant to the steel trading and manufacturing sector.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPM) is a plus.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with a strong background in the steel trading and manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
