In This Role, You Will
The role of the Sr. Portfolio & Accountability Manager based out of Pune, INDIA is to provide dedicated support and leadership to the MENAT CIB Tech CIO. The role holder has the overall responsibility of portfolio-level governance, financial control, vendor engagement, Charges to Business and workforce planning and people across a multi-country technology portfolio within the MENAT region, primarily in the Banking and Financial sector. Overall execution of the CIB Technology vision across Commercial Banking, Global Banking, Payment & GLCM.The role holder has management of the project portfolio and resources, aligned to the order book demand, Business, Regulatory and Compliance needs. This position involves regular interaction with senior stakeholders both globally and within the region. Collaborate with peers in IT both regional & global, Transformation teams and regional & country business to ensure the delivery of IT change portfolio.The role holder has four main pillars of responsibilities in their remit:
- Portfolio Governance & Leadership
- Financial Reporting & Budget Oversight
- Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Workforce & Resource Management
- Lead and enforce portfolio-level governance tracking/status establishing clear accountability at all levels across MENAT CIB Technology.
- Establish and maintain an effective governance and oversight capability including portfolio steering meetings, working groups and clear escalation paths through to the GBGF CIO.
- Prioritization of Tech Governed Investment portfolio in aligned with strategic business goals through structured governance.
- Ensure accurate financial management of governed targets, forecast and actuals (in collaboration with the business were aligned to Value Streams)
- Ensure programme suppliers (e.g. GBGFs) have correct interlock of budget in place, keeping within overall targets.
- Preparation of financial inputs and related commentary to governance packs.
- Plan and coordinate the project order book delivery, from resource planning, supply and demand control, accurate and timely project dashboards with financial details.
- Oversee Third Party Systems (TPS) Demand /spend and related processes.
- Coordinate with the Fusion team to manage SOW/Contracts, purchase orders, PSR, invoice approvals/rejections, and resolve timesheet discrepancies and engage with senior leadership to drive critical exception approvals.
- Ensure forecast in Pioneer and synchronization with GPDM for accurate workforce and financial tracking.
- Manage clarity project activities including project creation, project cloning, task creation, BP mapping and resolving clarity related issues with strong process knowledge.
- Manage resource tagging to replacement Ctool requests or create new ctool requests for incremental roles.
- Collaborate with portfolio stakeholders to collect next year’s CTB and RTB demands, identify headwinds and support planning alignment. The key part of the role is the delivery of COO services to the MENAT CIB Technology CIO and CIB Business partners and must have working knowledge of MENAT Businesses and Functions. - Approvals of 3rd party vendors and challenge where necessary
- Ensure any 3rd Party spend follows the standard IT Cost Board approval process
- Planning and provisioning 3rd party spend and ensuring invoices follow the standard Procurement PO process.
- Measure risk reduction and compliance.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- A post-graduate degree preferably in an IT or financial IT project management or operations discipline with overall experience of 10 -18 years in related field.
- Experience of managing within a complex matrix environment across CMB, GB, Payment & GLCM. Good knowledge and understanding of commercial banking products, services, processes with commercial banking and/or payments exposure.
- Strong written and verbal communication especially with senior stakeholders in Business & IT
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders.
- Understanding of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes
- Experience navigating through the Tech COO Tools: Discover, Qliksense, Pioneer
- Deep understanding in Financial/Project Management and how to manage the same through GPDM.
- Analytical, logical thinking and learning skills, the job holder must have an analytical and strong logical mind to extract/conclude useful ideas from enormous information.
