About the Role :

The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end plant operations, ensuring smooth functioning across Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Production, Quality, Maintenance and Store. The role requires strong leadership, process orientation, and a hands-on approach to driving productivity, quality, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end plant operations to meet production, quality, cost, and delivery targets while ensuring safety and compliance.
• Oversee daily production activities, optimize line performance, and improve KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, rejection rate, and throughput.
• Drive industrialization of new products by setting up lines, tools, jigs, and SOPs in collaboration with R&D and Product Engineering teams.
• Continuously improve manufacturing processes for efficiency, ergonomics, scalability, and standardization using lean principles.
• Ensure high uptime of all machinery and plant infrastructure through robust preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Track and analyze equipment breakdowns and implement long-term corrective actions while ensuring statutory compliance and workplace safety.
• Implement and monitor quality systems across incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages, ensuring first-pass yield and defect control.
• Lead quality problem-solving initiatives using tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, and FMEA; coordinate cross-functionally for permanent resolutions.
• Manage production planning and scheduling in coordination with PPC, ensuring alignment with sales demand and material availability.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG), enforce 5S and FIFO practices, and ensure accurate stock records through periodic audits.
• Collaborate closely with SCM, QA, R&D, Finance, and HR teams to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient plant functioning.
• Build and develop high-performing teams across production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and stores; define KPIs and drive accountability.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and team ownership on the shop floor.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and hands-on execution ability.
• Sound knowledge of lean tools (5S, Kaizen, TPM, Six Sigma).
• Practical understanding of assembly processes, ideally in EV, bicycle, auto, or electronics sectors.
• Cross-functional thinking and stakeholder management.
• Data-driven and process-oriented mindset.

Qualification & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a plant leadership role.
• Experience in EVs, automotive, bicycles, or consumer electronics is preferred.
