Job Description

Job Overview The Payroll cum Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end payroll functions for contract staff. This role combines payroll management with compliance oversight, requiring a thorough understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, state and central compliance requirements and employment laws. Primary Responsibilities Payroll Management: Oversee the preparation and processing of the payroll on a timely basis for 1000+ contract employees. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, benefits, tax deductions, and other deductions. Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data. Manage the on-boarding and exit formalities Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all payroll-related laws and regulations. Respond to and resolve employee payroll inquiries and issues. Ensure 100% compliance with state and central laws by coordinating with the compliance partner and finance department on a timely basis. Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with state,payroll, wage & laws and best practices. Stay current with payroll-related legislation and regulatory changes. Prepare and file required reports, including quarterly and annual payroll taxes. Manage internal and external audits related to payroll. Ensure the organization's payroll practices are compliant with labor laws and regulations. Advise management on compliance issues and recommend necessary actions. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard payroll operations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in payroll and compliance management for various states in India. Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems. In-depth understanding of tax and employment laws. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Skills: Proficiency in payroll software Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of compliance best practices and regulatory requirements. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Strong leadership and team management skills. Show more Show less
