Role Overview:

The Packaging Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily packaging operations, ensuring high efficiency, quality, and compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience with modern packaging processes, and a proven track record in optimizing production and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

  • Lead and manage day-to-day packaging operations to ensure timely and efficient production.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities to meet quality, quantity, and cost targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.

2. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems in line with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all finished products meet the required specifications and packaging integrity.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.

3. Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, train, and motivate the production team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify skill development needs.

4. Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as

    Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma

  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
  • Evaluate and implement new packaging technologies or automation systems.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Liaise with clients or internal stakeholders to address packaging requirements and process improvements.
  • Support new product development by providing technical input on packaging feasibility and design.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain production reports, downtime analysis, and efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure documentation of SOPs, process flows, and compliance records.
  • Present regular performance updates to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    B.E./B.Tech/Diploma(min -8 years of experience) in Mechanical, Industrial, or Packaging Technology (preferred).
  • Experience:

    6–8 years in packaging production or manufacturing, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of

    packaging materials, machinery, and production processes.

  • Proven experience in

    lean manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma

    initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
