Operations Head

Job Title: Head of Operations for WTP, STP, ETP, RO

Job Summary

The Head of the Water Treatment Plant oversees the operation, maintenance, and management of all water treatment processes and staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant water production. This role involves strategic planning, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the water treatment facility to ensure continuous supply of potable water that meets or exceeds quality standards.
• Supervise and train plant operators, technicians, and maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance schedules.
• Monitor process performance, water quality parameters, and system efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national water quality regulations and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and manage plant budget, including forecasting for chemical use, energy, and manpower.
• Coordinate with engineering teams for plant upgrades, expansion projects, and new technology integration.
• Lead emergency response and contingency planning for water supply disruptions.
• Maintain records, logs, and documentation for audits and inspections.
• Promote continuous improvement in plant performance and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications & RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, or related field.
• Master’s degree (preferred) in Environmental Management, Public Health, or related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in water treatment plant operations or management.
• At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience with water treatment technologies (e.g., filtration, disinfection, membrane systems, sludge handling).

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of water treatment processes, laboratory testing, and water quality standards.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, automation, and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of relevant environmental and health regulations (e.g., EPA, WHO, local authorities).
• Budgeting, resource management, and project management skills.

Certifications (as applicable)

• Valid Water Treatment Plant Operator License – Class A (or equivalent).
• Safety and Environmental Compliance certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
