Operations Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational activities, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality performance across departments.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to support business priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and guide operational teams, ensuring strong leadership and performance culture.
  • Review and optimise workflows, policies, and procedures to support growth and scalability.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on business planning, operational insights, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs, create performance dashboards, and provide regular reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Identify operational risks and implement effective controls and mitigation plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs, process innovation, and system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian regulations, safety standards, and industry requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in operations leadership roles, preferably within medium to large organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes, business planning, and organisational management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive transformation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with operational tools, workflow systems, and data-driven reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to manage complex priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA or relevant field) is an advantage.
  • Experience in Australian market operations or multinational environments.
  • Background in digital transformation, automation, or process re-engineering.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
