Job Description

As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability. This includes developing and implementing operational strategies, managing teams, optimizing processes, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Your role will involve strategic planning, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily manufacturing activities, production scheduling, and workflow optimization for maximum utilization of resources (manpower, machinery, materials) across all 5 plants located across Sanand, Pune, Pondicherry (Sintermetal plant), and Bawal. - Direct production engineering, process improvement initiatives, and the maintenance of plant equipment. - Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, supply chain, HR) to achieve business goals. - Establish and monitor KPIs for on-time delivery, yield, defect rates, inventory turn, and operational costs. - Develop and implement efficient systems, workflows, and best practices to optimize production and logistics. - Utilize lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to boost productivity and reduce waste. - Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and drive corrective actions. - Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, TS 16949), customer requirements, and regulatory obligations. - Oversee robust quality assurance and control systems; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for product and process non-conformities. - Champion a culture of zero defects and continuous improvement. - Oversee procurement, supplier relations, and raw material inventory to support production goals. - Collaborate with key suppliers and vendors to secure quality materials at competitive costs. - Manage risk and ensure business continuity across the supply chain. - Establish and enforce robust workplace safety protocols, in alignment with applicable laws and company policies. - Lead safety training, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement in EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) performance. - Develop, manage, and monitor operational budgets. - Optimize resource allocation (labor, materials, equipment) for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. - Oversee supply chain and inventory management to secure timely delivery and minimize disruptions. Qualifications Required: - Previous experience in operations and production management. - Strong leadership and team management skills. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. - Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulatory requirements. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
